Q: What format are your Videos and DVD's in, and what's Multi-Region ?
A: Our DVD are in the European PAL format
and will not be compatible with standard SeCAM and American/Canadian
NTSC formats. (SEE CHART BELOW)
• This format is nothing to do with 'anti-piracy' or copy methods,
PAL and NTSC are the colour encoding formats in which the
colours of the film are stored.
All DVD's are in Standard 4:3 format unless specified otherwise.
Many DVD players can play NTSC media, but very few
American/Canadian player can play PAL. Please check with your
machine's documentation before purchasing a PAL format media
if you live outside the UK.
On our DVD's all new titles are now Multi-Region - This means they
are not restricted by the Region encoding found on most discs and can
be played anywhere in the world, with the exception being as stated
above. (With PAL and NTSC colour formatting).
We will be looking in the near future to be producing NTSC format versions
of our most popular DVD's - please watch for announcements.
WORLD VIDEO FORMATS
PAL Format - 625 lines - 50 Hz
PAL is the most widely used standard for video. It is in use in the following countries:
United Kingdom, Europe (except France), Australia, New Zealand, some countries of South America.
ALL OF OUR TAPES AND DVDS ARE SUITABLE FOR THESE COUNTRIES.
NTSC Format - 525 lines - 60 Hz
NTSC is used in the following countries:
United States and some territories, Canada, Japan, Mexico, some countries of South America.
WE DO NOT CURRENTLY SUPPLY ANY VIDEOS IN THIS FORMAT.
YOU MUST CHECK YOUR VIDEO OR DVD MANUAL TO SEE IF IT CAN SUPPORT PAL BEFORE ORDERING ANY VIDEOS FROM THIS SITE.
SECAM Format - 625 lines - 50 Hz
SECAM is not widely used. It is in use in the following countries:

Q: What is DVD-R Media?
A: DVD-R (DVDR) are recordable DVD's. We have started to produce
some previously out of stock items on high quality DVD-R Media. They
will look and play the same as normal DVD's on almost every Home DVD
player.
We have tested our DVD-R's on: Sony, Pioneer, Toshiba, NAD, and more.
A DVD-R disc may not work on older 1st generation computer DVD-ROM
drives - from year 2000 or earlier, including Hitachi DVD-ROM
GD-5000
If you experience any problems playing a DVD-R please let
us know, along with the make & model of your player.

Q: How secure is my credit card if I buy on-line?
A: Security is our top priority - and as we buy many things on-line
its very important the site is secure before you make payment.
The shop has changed from its old form - credit card payments are now taken by Secure Trading (see above) on their high-level secure servers. Secure Trading were the company who managed ALL DEC donations during the Asian tsunami appeal, and are by far the most secure way to make a payment online.

Q: How do I make a purchase - from Start to Finish?
WITH AN ACCOUNT:
A: Okay! Purchases we like! Start telling me what you'd like
to buy? A video or a magazine gift item?
Lets choose a Video. Do you know the title? Or is it a particular subject
you are looking for?
Lets say its a video on 'Sentinel's - try using our Rapidsearch
box above on the left. Type in Sentinel and hit return or press Find
it!
It brings back 2 results. You can 'buy' the video right away, by selecting
'Add to basket'
Or you can find out more on the video by clicking on its title or the
image of the video.
This takes you to a 'detail' page - giving you all the info on that
video. You can add it to your basket from there too.
Once you've chosen your product, and if there is nothing else to buy,
then click 'Checkout' by your basket (on
left) which should now contain your video.
We'll now ask you to login, and if you haven't got an account or
used the system before, please click the 'Create Account' button.
After this is completed, you may return to the Login screen.
Login using your email address and your password.
This will take you to a page where you can confirm that what is in the
basket you wish to buy, you may alter the quantity, delete an item or
go back and shop some more.
Click Confirm Order.
Now you'll see your order and any size or free video options (these depend upon offers and items purchased) - you'll need to enter your full address - this must be same as the credit card address you're using, and an optional delivery address if different from your address. Click CONFIRM & PAY
As cards expire and sometimes you use a different card, we only use
the card information for this order.
Once the card form is completed click Send Order and that is it! Your order will
be processed by our staff in Horncastle and posted right out to you.
